2025 – The Year of Momentum
Momentum is one my favourite words, it describes and measures the speed and size of motion.
As Aurora Infrastructure has entered the new year 2025, we can really feel and see the momentum. Last year we secured €200 million of new funding and kept forging partnerships with industrial green transition leaders such as Neste, Nokia, and Outokumpu. This year, in turn, is all about new openings and expansion across Finland, but also the Nordics – stay tuned for our upcoming roads shows and events in Sweden!
While the industrial and energy landscape keeps evolving, the key trends that boost our offering remain in place. The Finnish government approved a new €400 million investment grant program for 2025 for new projects exceeding €30 million as well as a tax incentive program designed to fast-track approvals for green transition projects exceeding €50 million. Furthermore, the European Union is introducing a grant model to support large-scale green transition initiatives, alongside significant funding opportunities from programs like the European Innovation Fund and the European Investment Bank’s increased green financing for projects exceeding €100 million.
Also, industrial energy users face increasing pressure to decarbonize while maintaining operational efficiency and competitiveness. Electrification and renewable energy integration are at the heart of these transformations. Aurora is playing a pivotal role by delivering scalable and sustainable infrastructure solutions.
Now, what will 2025 look like for us and our partners?
- Investing in Industrial Energy Infrastructure: With €250 million ready to deploy, Aurora is targeting industrial electrification projects, including new and expanded greenfield initiatives. Additionally, the company is diversifying its portfolio by financing, owning, and operating a broader range of sustainable assets.
- Scaling Sustainability and Financial Value: Aurora is dedicated to delivering measurable benefits for clients by reducing their carbon footprints and unlocking capital and free cash flow for reinvestment into our customers own core growth opportunities. Your context is our core.
- Becoming a Nordic Champion: Aurora is broadening its partnerships beyond Finland to leverage the Nordic region’s leadership in renewable energy production and industrial electrification, new green industries and positioning itself as a regional leader.
- Navigating Regulatory and Funding Opportunities: Aurora actively supports clients in capitalizing on new tax incentives, EU grants, and funding mechanisms, ensuring their projects gain momentum and meet critical sustainability targets.
