Aurora Infrastructure is a trusted partner of large industrial companies Finland. We own and operate Outokumpu’s grid in Tornio since 2013, Neste’s grid in Kilpilahti since 2014 and the Nokia’s Oulu Campus grid since its inauguration in 2025. Terrafame’s grid in Sotkamo is the most recent of our partnerships.

In May this year, Terrafame and Aurora Infrastructure agreed on a buy and lease-back deal of the high and medium voltage electrical grid assets at Terrafame’s Sotkamo site. Terrafame’s CEO Antti Koulumies explained the decision:
“We’re very pleased to partner with Aurora Infrastructure which has a long experience in owning on-site electrical grid assets. This strategic partnership enables us to free up capital that we intend to use for strategic growth investments.”
The logic of the deal is simple: The capital tied up in electrical infrastructure is worth more in the customer´s core business. Partnering with Aurora Infrastructure unlocks that value.
Putting the grid assets to work – according to our customers’ needs
