At Aurora, we annually support non-profit organizations chosen by the personnel from each site. This year Kilpilahti staff decided to support the “Take Care of the Young Mind 2021”- campaign, given that “the future is in the hands of young people”.
The pandemic has had a huge impact on the lives of young people. The need for support has grown significantly while it has been difficult to get help. For example, only one in five chat requests were answered of the approximately 170,000 contacts that the Sekaisin-Chat received.
Behind the challenge “take care of young minds” are top Finnish artists, represented by the non-profit organization Toivon Kärki ry. 100% of the donations go to MIELI Suomen Mielenterveys ry:n youth mental health work. Now if ever, young people need our support.
Scholarships
As traditionally, Aurora also distributed scholarships to Porvoo high schools Linnakosken Lukio and Borgå gymnasium. With the scholarships, Aurora wants to encourage young people to study science (math, physics, chemistry) and electrical engineering.
